She received her Associate degree in Environmental Studies from FLCC. Emily then transferred to Coastal Carolina University and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Marine Science. As Executive Director Assistant for POP, Emily manages upcoming events and administrative duties. She also actively assists in the lab and with educational outreach events. She recently participated in plastic debris field research at Katmai Grizzly Bear Nature Preserve in King Salmon, Alaska, through a joint initiative with Ocean Plastic Recovery Project and Plastic Ocean Project.
