Rose Kurian
Rose is a student at Isaac Bear Early College High School and also one of the coordinators for the Trash’n Fash’n Show. Rose started volunteering at the Plastic Ocean Project when she was 12 years old, where she attended some cleanups and helped interns around the lab. In her sophomore year, she co-created and became a part of the Trash’n Fash’n Team, where she helped organize and plan the Trash’n Fash’n Show, an event that she hoped would provide a creative outlet for the community to express themselves through fashion while also bringing awareness to our wasting habits and fast-fashion. In her spare time, she loves to read, watch movies, listen to music, and spend time with family and friends. Rose loves everything pop culture — especially fashion and is also an avid traveler. |
Ezequiel Lara
Ezequiel is a student at Isaac Bear Early College and one of the coordinators for the Trash’n Fash’n show. Ezequiel likes to sew, knit, and art in general, but has always wanted to conjoin his love for art and the environment. This is one of the reasons he is a proud member of The Plastic Ocean Project and co-coordinator of the Trash’n Fash’n Show, along with Mary Hernandez and Rose Kurian. This event is important to Ezequiel as it is a way for him to share the hobbies he loves with the community while demonstrating the negative impact of plastic and fast fashion in a fun and exciting medium. |
Mariana Hernández
Mariana Hernández is a junior at Isaac Bear Early College who loves to read and listen to music as well as volunteer at the Plastic Ocean Project. During her sophomore year, she helped co-create the Trash’n Fash’n Show to help bring awareness to the harmful effects of fast fashion and to introduce fashionable ways to reuse. |
